“Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.”

Peter A. Levine

Why Story Work?

We are a culmination of thousands of stories. These stories began before we were born into our families, had roots in our cultural heritage, geographic location of birth, and childhood, with all of the biases, prejudices, and nuances from our family.

We are impacted deeply by the role we play in our family of origin, and all of these components, in addition to our experiences, impact how we relate to the world around us.

Join me as we explore the back story of how you came to be and find a truer, more authentic place to occupy as we unravel some of how you came to BE!

What is Enstoried?

We live in successive stories, some beautiful, filled with goodness, others harmful, pain-filled, even traumatic.

As we enter our stories and place ourselves in the context of our past experiences, we gain a deeper insight into how we were shaped.

Why Story Groups?

Seeing our stories through the eyes of others helps us identify and address the events that have shaped us and how those stories impact how we relate to ourselves, God, and others.

We walk alongside one another during group work, offering care and connection through vital conversation.  It is in the particularity of distinct moments of shame, betrayal, and/or powerlessness that our hearts have received lasting imprints.

  • "Suz is one of the best people to have come into my life. I was in a dark place where I needed guidance, truth, kindness, and other perspectives on what I was experiencing. Suz offered all of that and more. She has an uncanny way to see you for who you are and all the goodness that is there, then hold space gently to prod into erroneous narratives that are believed to be impacting the way you operate in life. She has offered so much and truly changed the way I think about myself and others. I’m forever grateful for her insight, wisdom, and human-ness. "

  • “Suz created a brave space for our cohort where we felt safe to access the vulnerability we needed in order to access the really tender parts of our stories.”

  • "She is absolutely someone I will trust and admire for the rest of my life."

  • "She guided me to the truths I didn’t think I could face or survive naming, while at the same time making me feel incredibly honored and cared for.”

  • "I so appreciated the time and energy she devoted to our group and our stories, it was life changing. She was able to listen so well and dig deep into very difficult areas with a level of compassion and wisdom I have rarely encountered."

  • "Suz is a force - a presence of being present and helping you learn to be present in your body and your story."

  • “Though I felt immediately safe with her, Suz was also not afraid to truthfully challenge me to keeping leaning into some of the most painful places of my story. She guided me to the truths I didn’t think I could face or survive naming, while at the same time making me feel incredibly honored and cared for.”

  • "She was an expert at sensing when we needed a push to go deeper, and when we needed space to sit with a warm virtual hug from the group."

  • "Under her guidance, she has been a shepherd to my healing and helping me create space to grieve alongside my inner child."

  • "Suz was my facilitator for NFTC Level 1 and was absolutely fantastic. Not only was she incredibly kind and empathetic in the way she approached my story and the stories of my group, but she also took the time to point out ways in which those of us who want to be in the therapy space as a profession, like myself, could further develop our critical thinking and communication skills."

  • "She is an advocate for truth, seen in her own life and healing, and felt as she gently unravels your protective measures."

  • “Suz was my facilitator for both a Story Workshop and NFTC-Level 1. Though I felt immediately safe with her, she was also not afraid to truthfully challenge me to keep leaning into some of the most painful places of my story."

  • "Suz is caring and strong - just the combo you need as you endeavor into the hardships and unseen delights of your pain and God-given glory."
